Many people have a sweet tooth and more often than not, that will impact their progress eating healthy. I mean who doesn’t want to eat ice cream all of the time? Have you had a box of Tiff’s Treats?! I could devour the entire box if no one was around. If you feel this way often, know that you are NOT alone. During this process of trying to eat healthy I decided to test different recipes that include a lot of protein powders allowing me to get my protein increased while also satisfying the dreaded sweet tooth. Some of these recipes were near hits and a couple were complete garbage. Lucky for you, I’ve done the hard work of determining which is which.
There is one controversial ingredient, Xantham Gum, in this recipe so use at your own discretion. For some it doesn’t affect them. For others, you’ll get minor bloating and gas. If you know it doesn’t agree with your system, by all means leave it out. It is a very common thickening agent and it helps give the ice cream like texture.
Using this recipe, you’ll be drinking a super thick, tasty protein shake in about 10 minutes. A couple of years ago our blender died and we decided to try out the Ninja Blender and WOW was it impressive — and sharp — be careful cleaning. Get your blender and kitchen scale out and lets get started!
