If you’ve been tracking your calories and are finding the holiday season more difficult to stay within your limit, you are not alone. There are so many tasty treats around this time of year.
One thing to remember is that substantial weight is not lost or gained in the short term. One day of excess will not hurt your progress. A couple of days over Christmas Break will not hurt your progress. What you need to watch for is regressing back into bad habits. Those habits will extend into the long term and slow your progress.
Treat yourself. Enjoy a dessert here and there, but be smart about it. This has been a struggle for me as well, so keep to your plan.
TIP: If you can increase your step count by 50% over the holidays by taking more walks or visiting the gym’s treadmill, this will afford you a few extra calories and reduce the guilt you may feel while eating some of your favorite treats.
